| The Visual Communication Program offers a 2-year comprehensive study, which leads to an associate of applied science degree with concentration in either graphic design, multimedia, video and post production, 3D animation, or web design. Certificates are also available for students looking to acquire technical skills within a few semesters, expand their experience in the field, or add an additional specialization to their degree. |

To succeed in the program, students need to be self-motivated, detail-orientated, and enjoy working with computers. Lone Star College-Kingwood students in visual communication will learn or develop skills in the following areas:
• creative problem solving • content development using industry- standard digital media • communication skills, including conveying design ideas with clients and team members • working independently or within a team • keeping current on the latest techniques and newest software • meeting deadlines • work flow and organization
In-House Internships
Each semester, three of our upper-level students are invited to complete an internship within our own on campus Designs-In-Print studio.
The Facilities
Courses include classroom instruction and hands-on experience within one of our three high-end computer labs: Mac, PC and Video-Production with mock studio. All labs include the latest hardware and leading industry software. |
